In the sequel, Ashish Mehra, a mature, successful investor settled in London, is still in a relationship with the much younger Ayesha Khurana and now decides to take the next major step: he travels to India to meet Ayesha’s family and seek their approval for marriage. His arrival stirs a whirlwind of reactions—Ayesha’s father and brother react with suspicion, her mother with quiet worry, and their conservative circles with judgment. Ashish finds himself in a series of humorous yet awkward encounters: he competes in subtle one-upmanship with Ayesha’s father at dinner, he endures pointed questions about his age, his intentions and his future role in their lives, and he navigates village rituals, family outings and commentary from every aunt and uncle present. Meanwhile, Ayesha tries to keep peace between her loyalty to Ashish and her family’s discomfort at the unusual relationship. As the family revisits old wounds—her father’s failed business, her brother’s stalled career, Ayesha’s mother’s unspoken sacrifices—they find in Ashish a mirror of their own regrets and hopes. The tension escalates when Ayesha’s father pits Ashish against a younger rival suitor, and Ashish must prove that his commitment is sincere while resisting being judged solely by his age. A mishap at a wedding function—the lighting collapses, the orchestra quits, and Ashish improvises a dance—becomes a turning point: the family sees his heart more than his years. Eventually, after storms of doubts, confrontations and self-realizations, Ayesha’s family agrees to the union not because they understand everything about Ashish, but because they accept his willingness to become part of their chaos. Ashish and Ayesha stand together, affirmed and accepted by her family, ready to write their next chapter.

Bhooma Devi arrives in Hyderabad to pursue her MA in English, optimistic and eager to embrace a fresh chapter of life. In her first week she meets Vikram, a computer engineering student whose charm and confidence draw her in; their flirtation quickly blossoms into a full-blown relationship. At first, their courtship seems typical of young love—the shared classes, the laughter at coffee break, the closely held notes passed between desks. But as time passes, Vikram’s attitude begins to shift. What started as sweetness becomes possessiveness. His jokes about gender roles turn sharp, his suggestions about what Bhooma should wear or whom she should meet become instructions. Suddenly, Bhooma’s father refuses to grant permission for her outings, her friends drift away under Vikram’s subtle demands, and her grades slip because she’s distracted by the weight of being someone’s “ideal girlfriend.” Behind the scenes, Vikram exploits the perception of being a loving partner while methodically eroding her independence. He dismisses her concerns as over-sensitivity, applauds her when she complies, and withdraws when she doesn’t. Bhooma finds herself in a literal foam-pit at a college game, unable to climb out—not because of chance, but because she’s frozen by fear and the knowledge that “being good” isn’t enough. Eventually, isolated and trapped, she realizes that the relationship isn’t uplifting—it’s limiting. Her turning point comes when she sees her father’s disappointment and recognizes the mirror of her own reflection cracking. She confronts Vikram in front of their peers, telling him that love does not require obedience. When he refuses to change, she walks away—quietly, resolutely. In the aftermath, Bhooma reclaims her friendships, refocuses her studies, and begins giving tours on her terms, offering visitors the choice to see beauty or complexity in the world. Though Vikram remains part of her past, she no longer lets his narrative define her future.
