The Story
Saali Mohabbat unfolds as a layered mystery thriller centered on Smita, a seemingly ordinary small-town housewife whose quiet life is built around her home, daily routines and her love for her garden. Her world begins to unravel when she learns of her husband’s infidelity and the deeper troubles he is hiding — debt to dangerous figures and fracturing relationships within their circle. The narrative employs a story-within-a-story structure, beginning with a frame where another woman at a gathering witnesses her husband’s betrayal and begins to recount Smita’s story, establishing a tone of betrayal, moral complexity and simmering tension. As Smita’s life becomes entwined with her husband’s cousin Shalini, whose presence introduces both jealousy and emotional strain, the situation escalates dramatically. A series of events culminates in the shocking discovery of two deaths — that of Smita’s husband and Shalini — found under mysterious circumstances that cast suspicion on Smita herself. With neighbours, police and even her own community turning sceptical, the local cop Ratan begins probing the case, questioning motives and peeling back layers of deception around Smita’s once-peaceful life. Throughout this, Smita is forced to navigate not only external scrutiny but also her own emotional turmoil: from the pain of betrayal to rage, survival instinct and strategic choices to protect herself. As the investigation intensifies, so does the complexity of the truth — revealing how deep betrayal, financial desperation, tangled loyalties and internal strength intertwine to produce outcomes no one expects. Smita’s journey becomes one of quiet transformation, where a woman pushed to the edge begins to assert control over her narrative in the face of suspicion, survival and the murky depths of human relationships.

As Shiv attempts to juggle a potential fourth romantic involvement with Tanya, evade Rohan's increasingly sharp observations, and maintain the delicate balance between Anjali, Simran, and Juhi, his secret life teeters on the brink of collapse. A series of hilarious misunderstandings, close calls, and mistaken identities ensue, particularly during a family-wide company retreat that all four women (and their respective children) unexpectedly attend.
