Mad Max: Fury Road

Storyline

In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Mad Max Rockatansky is captured by the War Boys, the army of the tyrannical Immortan Joe, and is used as a 'blood bag' for a sick War Boy named Nux. Meanwhile, Imperator Furiosa, one of Joe's most trusted lieutenants, deviates from her assigned fuel run, driving a massive armored tanker, the War Rig, in an attempt to escape with Joe's five 'wives' – women he keeps for breeding. Joe, enraged by this betrayal and the theft of his prized possessions, mobilizes his entire army, including the War Boys and the allied Gastown and Bullet Farm forces, to pursue Furiosa across the desolate desert. Nux, with Max still strapped to the front of his vehicle, joins the chase. After a brutal sandstorm, Max escapes Nux and is inadvertently entangled with Furiosa and the wives. Initially hostile, Max reluctantly forms an alliance with Furiosa when he realizes they share a common enemy and a desire for survival. They navigate various dangers, including attacks from Joe's forces and encounters with the motorcycle-riding 'Buzzards'. Max helps Furiosa repair the War Rig and fight off pursuing War Boys. They reach the 'Green Place', Furiosa's fabled homeland, only to find it has become a toxic, barren swamp. There, they encounter the Vuvalini, a small matriarchal clan of survivors, who are the last remnants of Furiosa's original tribe. Furiosa, heartbroken, plans to lead the Vuvalini across the salt flats in a desperate search for a new home. Max, however, proposes a counter-plan: to turn back and storm the Citadel, Immortan Joe's fortress, believing that its fertile grounds and abundant water are worth fighting for, especially since Joe's entire army is currently away pursuing them. The combined group of Max, Furiosa, the wives, and the Vuvalini turn the War Rig around and head back towards the Citadel, engaging in a climactic, brutal battle against Immortan Joe and his remaining forces on the 'Fury Road'. During the chaos, Furiosa manages to kill Immortan Joe. Max, gravely injured, helps Furiosa transfer Joe's body and the source of the Citadel's water to the Vuvalini. With Joe dead and his control broken, the oppressed populace of the Citadel, including the enslaved 'breeders' and the War Boys, welcome Furiosa and the wives as liberators. Max, having played his part in bringing down the tyranny, slips away into the crowd, a solitary wanderer once again.
