Storyline

Twenty-two years after the original Jurassic Park incident, Isla Nublar is now home to Jurassic World, a fully functioning luxury resort where visitors can observe genetically engineered dinosaurs in a safe environment. Brothers Zach and Gray Mitchell are sent to visit their aunt Claire Dearing, the park's operations manager, who is too busy with her duties to spend time with them and delegates their care to her assistant. Meanwhile, the park has created a new, genetically modified dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, to boost attendance, as the public is becoming desensitized to regular dinosaurs. Claire's boss, Simon Masrani, tasks Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady with assessing the Indominus Rex enclosure for security flaws. Owen expresses concern about the Indominus Rex's isolation and intelligence. The Indominus Rex, demonstrating extreme cunning, feigns an escape to trick Owen and a technician into entering its enclosure, then truly escapes into the park, killing staff in the process. Chaos ensues as the Indominus Rex begins a rampage, killing other dinosaurs and threatening visitors. Zach and Gray, having snuck away from their minder, find themselves in the creature's path and must evade it while trying to reach safety. Claire and Owen, initially at odds, team up to find the boys and stop the Indominus Rex. Owen's attempts to use his trained Velociraptors to track and contain the creature lead to a shocking revelation: the Indominus Rex possesses raptor DNA and can communicate with them, turning them against their trainer. Masrani attempts to subdue the Indominus Rex from a helicopter but is killed when the creature breaches the aviary, releasing Pteranodons and Dimorphodons that attack the park's main plaza, causing widespread panic and further casualties. As the Indominus Rex continues its destructive path towards the main tourist area, Owen, Claire, and the boys find themselves cornered. In a desperate gambit, Claire lures the park's veteran Tyrannosaurus Rex from its paddock to engage the Indominus Rex in battle. The T-Rex initially struggles but is aided by the last surviving Velociraptor, Blue, who remembers her bond with Owen. Together, the T-Rex and Blue manage to push the Indominus Rex to the edge of the lagoon, where it is dragged underwater and killed by the Mosasaurus. The surviving visitors are evacuated, and the island is once again abandoned to the dinosaurs, leaving Owen and Claire to reflect on the consequences of genetic manipulation and their shared ordeal.
