The Story
The series follows Sheriff Mickey Fox, a dedicated and experienced lawwoman who takes the helm of law enforcement in the small, rural town of Edgewater. As a member of a local law enforcement dynasty, she is fiercely protective of her community, which is constantly under threat not only from crime but also from the frequent and devastating natural disasters, particularly wildfires, that define the region. Mickey's job requires her to navigate a complex landscape of criminal investigations, from local disputes to sprawling conspiracies, while simultaneously managing the chaos of large-scale emergencies. This often forces her and her department into close collaboration with firefighting agencies, creating a tense but essential partnership. As she works to keep her town safe, Mickey must also grapple with the long shadow of her legendary and complicated father, uncovering secrets that connect her family's past to the town's present dangers. Her leadership is constantly tested as she balances upholding the law with the unpredictable and often life-threatening challenges of her environment.
