They Call Him OG is a Telugu-language action crime film directed by Sujeeth, starring Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera (OG). The story unfolds in two timelines: the 1970s and the 1990s, primarily set in Mumbai.
In the 1970s, a young Ojas Gambheera survives a Yakuza massacre at a Samurai dojo in Japan. He boards a ship bound for Bombay, where he encounters Satya Dada, a Telugu and Marathi businessman transporting gold bars to establish a private port in Colaba. Gambheera rescues Satya Dada and his associate Vardhaman Mirajkar from a gang of thieves, impressing them with his martial prowess. Satya Dada, recognizing Gambheera's potential, takes him under his wing, and Gambheera pledges his loyalty to him.
Over the years, Satya Dada's port thrives, thanks in part to Gambheera's protection. However, tensions arise when Mirajkar betrays Satya Dada, attempting to seize control of the port, leading to a fierce rivalry between the two.
In the 1990s, Mirajkar's son, Jimmy, smuggles RDX explosives through the port, resulting in a deadly confrontation that claims the life of Satya Dada's son, Pardhu. This act reignites the longstanding feud, with Mirajkar fearing the wrath of Gambheera, known as the "Baagul Bua," who had once decimated Mirajkar's gang during a failed attempt to take over the port.
As the narrative progresses, Gambheera returns to Mumbai after a decade in exile, seeking vengeance against Omi Bhau, a ruthless gangster who has taken control of the underworld. The film follows Gambheera's quest to reclaim his empire, confront old enemies, and navigate the complex web of alliances and betrayals that define the criminal underworld.
