The Story
In the modern city of Delhi, Alok Goyal, a curious historian, unearths a dusty manuscript that transports him into the world of an ancient kingdom called Vijayanagar, where a terrible secret has festered for centuries. There he discovers the legend of the “Thamma” — a vampiric being known as the Betal, born of blood and betrayal, cursed to roam between life and death. As Alok deciphers the myth, he unwittingly awakens the dormant power within himself, transforming into the Betal. While Alok struggles to control his hunger for blood and the supernatural abilities that surge through his veins, he is drawn to Tadaka, a mysterious woman whose own lineage ties into the vampire lore. Their connection ignites a romance that defies mortal bounds, yet it also awakens ancient enemies. Yakshasan, an immortal guardian trapped for eons in a cavern beneath the old city, emerges to claim power and reclaim what he believes is his. As Alok fights to protect Tadaka and the world from unraveling, the city becomes the battleground where vampiric clans, mythic guardians and human history clash. Alok must reconcile his human past with his vampire present, choosing between going deeper into darkness or embracing a new kind of humanity. In the final confrontation, Alok, driven by love and fear, confronts Yakshasan amid the ruins of Vijayanagar’s memory. Blood is spilled, truths are revealed, sacrifices are made, and Alok must embrace the Thamma within in order to save both his world and the woman he loves. Although the battle ends, the curse remains—and Alok now walks a path between two worlds, forever changed.
