Storyline

Stuart Finch, a socially awkward but gifted astrophysicist toiling away in the obscure 'Department of Minor Cosmic Anomalies,' is the first and only human to detect a subtle, yet catastrophic universal decay. For eons, the cosmos has been accumulating 'data junk' – a build-up of dark matter, rogue energy, and quantum inconsistencies – reaching a critical mass. Stuart uncovers ancient cosmic schematics revealing the universe's inherent self-correction mechanism: a 'Universal Defragmentation Protocol' (UDP), colloquially known as the 'Great Reset.' This protocol, designed by the architects of reality, is not a malicious act but a necessary cleansing, intended to wipe the slate clean, erasing all existing life and consciousness to allow for a fresh, more stable cosmic cycle. Stuart, however, interprets the UDP as an existential threat, a monstrous, universe-ending deletion of everything he knows and loves. Driven by a desperate sense of duty and a profound loneliness, Stuart embarks on a solo mission to 'save' the universe. Dismissed by his colleagues and superiors who deem his findings a delusion, he covertly repurposes office supplies, ancient alien artifacts he's collected over the years, and a heavily modified toaster oven into a makeshift 'Cosmic Undoing Reversal Apparatus' (CURA). His ambitious plan involves injecting a massive dose of 'anti-reset' energy into the universe's core vibrational frequency, essentially creating a cosmic firewall. He enlists the reluctant aid of Penelope, his cynical coffee-break companion who initially thinks he's having a breakdown, and Kevin, a super-intelligent AI embedded in his smart-speaker, whose dry wit often highlights the futility of Stuart's efforts. As the countdown to the Great Reset approaches its final hours, Stuart, Penelope, and Kevin journey to a secluded, electromagnetically charged ancient observatory—the only place powerful enough to launch the CURA. They face a series of comical mishaps and near-disasters, from battling rogue automated cleaning drones protecting the observatory's power core to accidentally activating a universal 'snooze button' that only delays the inevitable by mere minutes. In a climactic race against time, Stuart manages to activate the CURA just as the cosmic energy surge of the Great Reset begins. A blinding flash engulfs the universe, and for a moment, it seems Stuart has succeeded. However, the aftermath reveals the true depth of Stuart's failure. While the immediate erasure of the Great Reset is averted, the universe doesn't return to normal.
