Spider-Man: Homecoming

Storyline

After assisting Tony Stark during the conflict in Germany, Peter Parker returns to his mundane high school life in Queens, New York, under the watchful eye of his mentor. He eagerly awaits calls for Avenger missions, constantly texting Happy Hogan, but Tony believes he's not ready for such responsibilities and limits him to being a 'friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.' Feeling restless and underutilized, Peter continues his local crime-fighting, often using the advanced suit Stark gave him, which includes an AI assistant he names Karen. During one patrol, he encounters criminals using sophisticated alien technology derived from the Chitauri invasion. He soon discovers that these weapons are being manufactured and sold by Adrian Toomes, a former salvage worker who felt wronged by Stark Industries and now operates as the Vulture. Peter's attempts to stop Toomes's crew lead to several mishaps, including a critical incident on the Staten Island Ferry, where his interference nearly causes disaster, forcing Tony Stark to intervene and confiscate the suit. Stripped of his advanced tech, Peter is forced to rely on his homemade suit and his innate abilities. He struggles with balancing his superhero aspirations with his commitments to high school, including academic decathlon and his crush on fellow student Liz. He eventually discovers that Toomes is planning to hijack a plane transporting Stark Industries technology from Avengers Tower. The night of the school dance, Peter picks up Liz, only to realize that Toomes is her father. Toomes, having deduced Peter's identity, warns him to stay out of his way. Ignoring the threat, Peter dons his homemade suit and pursues Toomes. He confronts Toomes aboard the plane, preventing the heist and saving Toomes from a fiery death when the Vulture suit malfunctions. Following the ordeal, Tony Stark, impressed by Peter's selflessness and growth, offers him a full-time position with the Avengers, complete with a new suit. Peter declines, opting to continue as the local Spider-Man. Returning home, Peter accidentally reveals his secret identity to his Aunt May.
