Storyline

The year is 2026, and humanity has ventured into the stars with long-duration interstellar travel. The immense generational starship 'Odyssey' is on its multi-year voyage to the exoplanet Kepler-186f, carrying 5,000 colonists in cryo-sleep. Dr. Aris Thorne, a brilliant astrophysicist and one of the mission's lead architects, is among the slumbering passengers. Early in the journey, Aris's cryo-pod suffers a catastrophic malfunction, jolting him awake decades ahead of schedule. He finds himself utterly alone on the vast, silent vessel, with only the hum of automated systems for company. His attempts to re-enter cryo-sleep or establish contact with the dormant bridge crew are met with system failures and cryptic error messages. As days stretch into weeks, Aris begins to explore the ship's deepest reaches, uncovering architectural discrepancies. He discovers heavily shielded sections of the 'Odyssey' that are not present on the official blueprints, leading him to a clandestine research laboratory. Inside, he unearths encrypted data logs that hint at a secret biological experiment involving a newly discovered alien pathogen. The logs reveal that the mission to Kepler-186f is not merely a colonization effort but a covert operation to transport and study this dangerous extraterrestrial organism, which holds the potential for both unimaginable destruction and groundbreaking medical advancements.
