Night of the Living Dead

Storyline

The year is 2026, and a quiet weekend in rural Pennsylvania is shattered by a catastrophic, unexplainable phenomenon: the dead are returning to life, ravenous and relentless. Siblings Sarah and Tom, en route to their estranged aunt's farmhouse, are among the first to witness the horror firsthand. Fleeing a direct attack, they stumble upon a secluded farmhouse where a small, disparate group has already gathered. This includes Ben, a pragmatic and resourceful veteran; the increasingly volatile couple, Harry and Helen, and their traumatized teenage daughter, Karen; and Vince, a skeptical young man convinced the events are an elaborate hoax or a social experiment. As night falls, the farmhouse becomes a fragile sanctuary against the surging tide of the undead. Communication systems fail, severing any connection to the outside world, and the initial reports of isolated incidents quickly escalate into a full-scale, nationwide collapse. Inside, the survivors' different approaches to survival clash violently. Ben attempts to establish order and fortify their position, while Harry, clinging to the hope of imminent rescue, insists on retreating to the cellar, leading to a bitter power struggle. Sarah tries to mediate, but the sheer terror and the constant threat from outside begin to erode everyone's sanity. Karen, catatonic with shock, observes the disintegration of human decency around her. The group endures relentless assaults, forcing them to improvise defenses with diminishing resources. Food and water become precious commodities, and the psychological toll of their confinement and the endless horror outside pushes individuals to their breaking points. A brief moment of hope arrives with the distant sound of what might be military patrols, only for it to be brutally extinguished as the sounds recede, leaving the survivors with the chilling realization that they are on their own. The final hours of the night descend into desperate, chaotic struggles, both against the undead and among themselves, culminating in tragic betrayals and sacrifices that leave a handful of shell-shocked individuals to face a dawn that offers no promise of salvation, only an endless, desolate landscape of the living dead.
