Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Storyline

Three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, a team of mercenaries attempts to retrieve a DNA sample from the remains of the Indominus Rex on Isla Nublar, which is now facing an imminent volcanic eruption. The mission goes awry, and the Mosasaurus escapes into the open ocean. Claire Dearing, formerly the park's operations manager, now runs the Dinosaur Protection Group, advocating for the dinosaurs' rescue from the island. She is contacted by Eli Mills, the ambitious assistant to Benjamin Lockwood, John Hammond's former partner. Lockwood, now frail, wishes to fund an expedition to save the dinosaurs and transport them to a new sanctuary island. Claire agrees to lead the mission and recruits Owen Grady, a former velociraptor trainer, to help capture Blue, his intelligent raptor, as she's considered the most valuable asset. They arrive on Isla Nublar with a small team, including paleo-veterinarian Zia Rodriguez and systems analyst Franklin Webb. As the volcano becomes active, they discover that Mills' true intentions are not to save the dinosaurs, but to capture them for an illegal auction. The expedition leader, Ken Wheatley, is a ruthless big-game hunter who tranquilizes and cages the animals, leaving Owen, Claire, Franklin, and Zia to die on the island amidst the eruption. They narrowly escape the volcanic explosion on the last transport ship, discovering that the ship is also carrying the captured dinosaurs, including a severely injured Blue. Zia manages to save Blue from an infection. The dinosaurs are transported to Lockwood's estate in Northern California. Owen, Claire, Franklin, and Zia infiltrate the mansion, where they learn that Mills, in league with auctioneer Gunnar Eversoll, plans to sell the dinosaurs to international buyers, including a new genetically engineered hybrid predator, the Indoraptor. They also discover that Maisie Lockwood, Benjamin's granddaughter, is a clone of his deceased daughter. Lockwood himself tries to confront Mills about his deception but is suffocated by him. During the auction, the Indoraptor escapes its cage and terrorizes the mansion. Owen and Claire work to protect Maisie from the creature. Eventually, the Indoraptor is killed by Blue, falling through a glass ceiling onto a Triceratops skull in a display. Meanwhile, a toxic hydrogen cyanide gas leak in the mansion's sub-level threatens the remaining caged dinosaurs. Claire is faced with the agonizing decision of whether to release them, knowing it will unleash them into the human world. She initially hesitates but Maisie, feeling a kinship with the dinosaurs as a genetic creation herself, opens the gates, allowing the dinosaurs to escape into the wild. Mills is killed by the Tyrannosaurus Rex as he attempts to flee with the Indominus Rex's bone sample. The film concludes with the dinosaurs now loose on the mainland, creating a new epoch where humans and dinosaurs must coexist, and Blue observing a suburban neighborhood from a ridge.
