Dune: Part Three
It follows Muad'dib, heir to unimaginable power, as he brings to fruition the ancient scheme to create a superbeing rule...
The film opens with a new American astronaut, Dr. Kira Foster, arriving at the International Space Station (ISS), joining fellow Americans Gordon Barrett and Christian Campbell, and a Russian cosmonaut crew consisting of Alexey Pulov, Nicholai Prokhorov, and Weronika Vetrov. Initially, relations are cordial and cooperative, typical of the station's international spirit. However, this peace is shattered when the crew observes blinding flashes of light on Earth, indicating a massive global conflict has erupted between the United States and Russia. Communication with their respective ground controls becomes intermittent and eventually ceases. Both crews independently receive cryptic, urgent orders: the American crew is instructed by their ground control to seize control of the ISS by any means necessary, while the Russian crew receives a similar directive from their command. The initial shock gives way to suspicion and paranoia as the two groups, once colleagues, begin to eye each other with distrust. Kira, a biologist, tries to maintain diplomacy, but the weight of the orders from Earth presses heavily on everyone. Christian, despite his initial reluctance, sides with Gordon in believing they must follow orders. The tension escalates during shared meals and daily routines, with each side secretly planning their next move. Nicholai, the most assertive of the Russian cosmonauts, pushes for aggressive action, while Alexey, the Russian commander, tries to find a peaceful resolution but is bound by his orders. A series of escalating incidents and misinterpretations lead to a breakdown in trust. The station's resources, including its limited oxygen and fuel, become points of contention. As the situation grows more dire and the crews become increasingly isolated, the fight for control of the ISS becomes a desperate struggle for survival, with each side believing they are acting for the greater good of their nation and perhaps humanity, leading to tragic and fatal confrontations in the cramped, zero-gravity environment of the space station.
