Final Destination 5

Storyline

During a corporate retreat, Sam Lawton has a premonition while on a bus heading towards the North Bay Bridge. He foresees the bridge collapsing, killing him and many others. When the vision ends, the bridge begins to collapse exactly as he saw it, but Sam manages to save himself and several coworkers: Molly Harper, Peter Friedkin, Candice Hooper, Olivia Castle, Isaac Palmer, and Nathan Sears. Their boss, Dennis Lapman, also survives. Shortly after, Agent Jim Block warns them that Death always finds a way to reclaim those who cheated it. The survivors begin to die in increasingly elaborate and gruesome accidents, following the order of their foreseen deaths on the bridge. Candice is the first to die, falling from uneven parallel bars during gymnastics practice and breaking her spine. Olivia dies next after undergoing laser eye surgery, falling from a window after the chair collapses and a loose screw causes a chain reaction. Isaac perishes when he goes to a massage parlor and a Buddha statue falls on his head, after a fire in the building causes him to get trapped. Dennis is killed by a flying wrench from a grinding machine. Sam and Molly realize that to cheat Death, they must kill someone else to 'take their place' on Death's list. Peter, driven mad by Candice's death, attempts to kill Molly and then Agent Block, but is killed by Sam. Sam and Molly manage to board a plane to Paris, believing they have finally escaped Death's design. However, an announcement reveals that their flight number is 180, and the year is 2000. It is revealed that Sam and Molly were on the original flight from the first Final Destination film, meaning all events were a prequel leading up to their inevitable deaths as the plane explodes shortly after takeoff. Nathan is also killed back on the ground when a landing gear wheel from the exploding plane crashes into his head, fulfilling a prior premonition he had about his own death.
