Storyline

The story is set in the rugged, impoverished ravines of Chambal in 1980s India, a land where the law often fears to tread and local dacoits hold sway. Arjun, a young man with a fierce sense of justice and a troubled past, leads a gang of dacoits. He was forced into this life after his family was wronged by corrupt landlords and apathetic officials, vowing to protect the innocent and punish the guilty, though his methods are often brutal and outside the law. His reputation as a 'Robin Hood' figure is complicated by the constant threat of police encounter and the moral compromises he is forced to make. Into this perilous world stumbles Ria, a bright and independent journalist from a bustling city, sent to cover the escalating dacoit problem and its impact on rural communities. During her research, her jeep breaks down deep in the ravines, leading to an unexpected encounter with Arjun and his gang. Initially terrified, Ria is surprised by Arjun’s intelligent demeanor and the surprising humanity she observes among his men, despite their violent profession.
